Modelling and Aggregation of LED Lamps for Network Harmonic Analysis

This paper presents the generalized modelling approaches for the four types of lighting-emitting diode (LED) driver circuit topologies found in the previous laboratory tests of 28 residential LED lamps from 13 different manufacturers, with the rated power ranging from 3 W to 25 W. With the proposed approaches, the model parameter values can be directly obtained from the measurements, with the model accuracy fully validated. By applying proper fitting between the parameter values and the rated operating power, the generalized model for each type circuit topology can be obtained, which can be applied for the further model aggregation in order to investigate the harmonic impacts of large-scale LED lamps on the distribution network.
