Real-time Dynamic Economic Load Dispatch Considering Prediction Errors of PV

Increase in renewable energy sources (RES), such as photovoltaic (PV) power generation, may lead to severe problems related to the load dispatch. Important aspect is the reduction of controllable resources yielding concerns about reliability issues. This paper proposes a new method for mitigating the irregularity associated with RES. The proposed method is to realize real-time dynamic economic load dispatch (RDED) as an efficient tool for real-time management of uncertainties using the limited controllable resources. Dynamic characteristic of prediction error is effectively treated by using confidence intervals (CIs) of predictions. The outcome of the proposed system operation satisfies the economical requirements and reliability against uncertainties.
